Sexuality is not wrong—suppressing it is

By Steve Otto

Just today, I met up with a woman I hope to get to know. This is a good time to remind myself that the women I meet in real life are never like the women I see in porno movies.

So I’ve decided to muse on the subject of porno films.  I have argued in the past with people about pornography. Despite all the objections from guys, as well as women, I still think most guys look at sexually explicit materials at least some of their time. And among some of the opponents of my views there is the agreement that there is a difference between straight out porn and erotica. Anti-porn people vary on where they draw the line. But most of the Marxist-Leninists (and MLM) activist I know are against most sexually explicit photos and films.

As my brother pointed out to me the other day, the people in those films don’t talk like, or act like real women (or men) that we know. It is important not to make the mistake of talking to women about what a guy sees on such films and forgetting that the dialog with real women is far different. Forget that and a guy can offend a woman really bad. And the results can be terrible. I actually know a guy who made a bad impression on a woman I knew who dated him. She said he talked about moves he learned watching porno films. She was not impressed—the very opposite.

Still I wonder what motivates a man or woman to expose their private parts in a movie, doing personal things that most people would never do in public? Are they just out to make money? Do they enjoy what they do? One anti-porn woman I talked to said she read an interview of a porn star who said they often had her doing things that were painful. I don’t doubt that. I’m sure there are forms of pornography that no one should really do.  It can be painful and unnecessary. I have watch some films, in the past, and wondered how a woman could tolerate such treatment. I’m not in favor of just anything. Abusive films need not be made.

It is easy to see that porn film stars are doing things that look good on the cameras, but most of us would not have those types of sex for fun. Most men in those films ejaculate (the money shot as they call it) out of the vagina, not in as most people would do. There are many angles that a person would use for sex only so the camera can see what they are doing. In some ways it is hard to distinguish between people who simply want to film their sex life and those who are professional porn stars.

So why do people do this for a living? Money would be a big reason. Some people might find the activities they are in as exciting adventures. Some may be rebelling against the puritanical society we live in.

At times there are only pictures of nude people. Some are tasteful, some look candid as in a person who just happens to be out naked in their yard or on a beach. Others may be demonstrating crude poses that most normal people would ever do. Again, what is their motive? For example some women like being photographed while they are peeing. These photos are not intended to be tasteful.

Then there is all the non-sense I have seen on line about pornography. Some of the claims are just plain idiotic. For example consider this piece I found on pornography Addiction:

"How Can You Spot A Pornography Addiction?

Many seek sexual stimulation outside of the bounds of ‘normal’ intercourse. In most cases, people can keep this urge under control, but serious problems arise when people (especially young people) use porn as an educational rather than a recreational tool, and attempt to apply the fictitious (and often damaging) mores of porn to their real-life sexual encounters."

Many of the articles I found treat pornography as a drug or on par with gambling addictions. Of course there are always those who become compulsive addicts to an activity, such as gambling or pornography or some other activity.

Another absurdity I found was "7 Negative Effects of Porn,"

by BJ Stockman. He claims that pornography causes:

"PORN CONTRIBUTES TO SOCIAL AND PSYCHOLOGICAL PROBLEMS WITHIN MEN."

2. PORN REWIRES THE MALE BRAIN

Struthers elaborates,

  1. As men fall deeper into the mental habit of fixating on [pornographic images], the exposure to them creates neural pathways. Like a path is created in the woods with each successive hiker, so do the neural paths set the course for the next time an erotic image is viewed. Over time these neural paths become wider as they are repeatedly traveled with each exposure to pornography. They become the automatic pathway through which interactions with woman are routed….They have unknowingly created a neurological circuit that imprisons their ability to see women rightly as created in God’s image (Wired For Intimacy, 85)."

This is real pseudo science. This guy writes this crap to make a name for himself. These claims are ridiculous.

3. PORN TURNS SEX INTO MASTURBATION

Sex becomes self-serving. It becomes about your pleasure and not the self-giving, mutually reciprocating intimacy that it was designed for.

So no one in normal society masturbates? How absurd it that?

"4. PORN DEMEANS AND OBJECTIFIES WOMEN."

We see this on both the left and the right. Porn can objectify anyone male or female. Again, it is a weak argument.  It also says a lot that a woman is objectified, demeaned or humiliated by sex and her sexuality. Why is sex humiliating.

"5. PORN SQUASHES THE BEAUTY OF A REAL NAKED WOMAN

Wolf, in her own blunt way, confirms this,

  1. For most of human history, the erotic images have been reflections of, or celebrations of, or substitutes for, real naked women. For the first time in history, the images’ power and allure have supplanted that of real naked women. Today, real naked women are just bad porn (Quoted in Wired for Intimacy, 38).

6. PORN HAS A NUMBING EFFECT UPON REALITY.

7. PORN LIES ABOUT WHAT IT MEANS TO BE MALE AND FEMALE

Dines records how porn tells a false story about men and women. In the story of porn, women are “one-dimensional”–they never say no, never get pregnant, and can’t wait to have sex with any man and please them in whatever way imaginable (or even unimaginable). On the other hand, the story porn tells about men is that they are “soulless, unfeeling, amoral life-support systems for erect penises who are entitled to use women in any way they want. These men demonstrated zero empathy, respect, or love for the women they have sex with…(Pornland, xxiv).”

Most of this is just a lot of absurd crap. Some of these things may really happen in extreme cases, but rewiring a persons brain about sex does not happen that easily. Any person has to be able to distinguish between fantasy and reality. For example the early, 1 AD writer, Titus Lucretius Carus mused:

"Hot pitch, executioners, torture, and all those ghastly diversions the judges impose on felons scare us and let us imagine an eternity of whips, firebrands, and scourges, the effect of which is to make life on this earth a hell for those fools who cannot distinguish dreams from the truth.”

And there are those people who work really hard at repressing their own sexual desires:

From Pure Life Ministries:

"has been a pioneer in dealing with sexual addiction and its consequences for over 35 years. During that span of time thousands of people have found freedom through our counseling programs and teaching materials....

....Residential

Our 9-month Residential Program, located in a beautiful rural Kentucky setting, is the ideal solution for any man in sexual sin."

Here we see an example of someone who uses religion to try and destroy their sexual desires. I have seen this before. Many religious people treat sex as a sin...pure and simple. They treat it as a curse. Sexuality is a normal part of most people's lives. Sex is not wrong. In some forms it can be wrong. Rape is wrong. We must treat others with respect—regardless of their own sexual practices. We don't want to force ourselves on others. All sex must be consensual. We have no right to force ourselves on anyone.

But sexuality in itself is a normal part of life. It should be treated as such. Some pornography does cross that line. For example it is not normal to watch a women being gang banged. Regardless of the background for making such films, no women should be portrayed as a victim. That is not normal sex. There is nothing wrong with pictures of nude people. Some portrayed sex acts cross the line between what is normal and what is not. But to put blank labels on all porn, as something evil and destructive, is simplistic and stupid. We live in a world were some sexuality is a normal part of life. To deny this is to deny humanity. It is absurd to say the least.

A little more snow for March

So we are now in the month of March and we have a little more snow. I think we've had more that most years. I still like it when the skies are gray and there is a bit of fog and there is snow on the ground. I don't that it is cold at all. That is fine with me.

I don't remember when I took this picture, but I'm sure it was this year.
The other night I took this picture.

Today I took this picture today.

This year's snow - 2022

By Steve Otto
We don't get a lot of snow in Wichita. So each year I take pictures of snow days and post them here. This year, so far, we have had two serious snows. That means the snow was at least 4 inches high and when I walked through the yard, I actually left serious prints. So the first snow happened the day I left for Portland Oregon, February 2, to visit my son Ethan.

\
Here is the picture of the night before I left.

Then I visited Mt. Hood, while on my trip, and it was covered in snow. So I saw a snow day in another state. Here at home, they shut down almost all the schools for two snow days, Thursday and Friday. We haven't had real snow days in over 5 years.

And we had a decent snow over the last few days, February 16 through 19. This was also significant snow. So this has been a much better year than the last several years.

A trip to Portland Oregon to visit my son, Ethan

By Steve Otto

For my trip to Portland Oregon, I took a few pictures. The first night I stayed at my son, Ethan Otto's house. It is a nice house near the middle of town. He has two cool room mates. One is a woman who draws for comic books, or as they say, graphic novels.

I stayed at a hotel for three nights, called "Inn At The Convention Center." It was a fairly good place to stay. But not the cheapest. I ate some of my meals at a Denny's near by (two blocks). Ethan told me he doesn't like Denny's.

Sunday night Ethan and I went to my brother Terry's house for dinner. We had some great fish. The rest of the trip I spent at Terry and Barb's house, except the last night. That last night I stayed in a hotel close to the Airport. It was a Super 8 and it was cheaper than the Inn and it had a fridge, microwave and a coffee maker. The people working there were very nice.

We did a lot of site seeing while Ethan was at work. Terry took me to Mt. Hood, which was covered in snow. It was beginning to snow in Wichita when I left. So I got to see not only a lot of snow, but that cloudy misty fog. It was a wonderful trip. I got to see something we rarely see in Wichita—a snowy day.

The next day Barb took me to buy some new shoes—which I badly needed and we went to a winery and hotel for lunch. And no! I bought my own shoes.

It was a fine trip. There is nothing like travel to get a person going.

It was great to see Ethan again. I also got to see my Brother Terry, his wife Barb and son Jeff.

Ethan took me to Pizzeria Otto. We both had a big pizza. It was really good, but I missed getting Ethan in this picture. We ate at a few other fine restaurants.

Here Barb and Jeff took a break from walking around, in front of one of Portland's many fine restaurants.
On a site seeing tour, we saw a lot of water falls that drain into the Columbia River. Terry pointed out one of the nude beaches in Portland. He said that people there will go to those beaches in surprisingly cold days.

Here is Terry, Barb and the dog.

Another year passes after Cam died and there is nothing to show for it

 By Steve Otto

On January 21, my wife died one year ago. That means I’ve been a widow for a year. It hasn’t been a good year. I’ve tried to date women and that has not gone well. I only had one date that lasted more than once and it is now over. Some of my friends have seemed to take offence at me dating after Cam. But overall the experience has sucked.

Suddenly as that date comes closer—today is the 19, I realize how little I got done in a year. Nothing good came out of this year. I’m alone—really alone. I’m trapped in a house I don’t like—in a town I don’t like. The only thing I did like was tea and I quit using that. So now I really have nothing. Even work on my political blogs has dropped off. I do less and less every day.

My birthday, 67 years old, 2022

 By Steve Otto

When the day began, I was not considering this to be a very good birthday. I’m sure I’ve had bad ones before, but this one got off to a bad start.

I’ve had this new girl friend, that is until today. She had plans for us to stay in a motel for a day or two. Those plans didn’t last long. The woman is crazy. She claims I said something rude while I was drunk. We all say stupid things when we are drunk. But she would not let it go. After a while she accused me of badgering her for the last 4 hours. All I did was try to talk to her. The more we talked the more obnoxious she got. When she finally left at dawn, I was glad to be rid of her.

I was supposed to have a celebration dinner at longhorn steakhouse. My brother John decided it was too cold to drive around, so we (meaning mostly him) decided to call of the dinner until tomorrow. So, realizing that I had nothing to drink tonight, I set off to walk to the liquor store for some refreshments. While it was 25 degrees out, more or less, I bundled up to go to that liquor store about 2 miles down the road.

Despite the long walk and the cold, I started off, trudging along. I stopped at Pizza Hut and decided to eat a little pizza and drink some ice tea. Then I got a call from my brother Phill. He didn’t know we called of dinner. So, I invited him to meet me at Pizza Hut. Then we went to the Agave Restaurant near the local liquor store.

Phill ate dinner, I just drank margaritas. It was a fine afternoon.

I'm done with on-line dating--complety done.

 By Steve Otto

I have finally had my fill of on-line dating sites. For me it is a waste of time. Elite Singles has tried to take about $137 out of my account and I plan to stop them. I don’t want their service anymore. None of the women I met there wanted anything to do with me. I went on two dates and they were a one time deal.

I went to Match.com and I have had no better luck with them. I will cut the cord for them soon. I went to another site, which is more of a sex site and I am reminded “There is no sex in the Champaign room. None! Oh there is Champaign in the Champaign room, but you don’t want Champaign. You want sex.”

So I will stick to meeting women in person. I’ve met two women here at a bar and one of them still sees me. So my life now doesn’t completely suck.

Between my no longer functioning card and my isolation here in my home, this week has been a real cluster fuck. I’ve been stuck here a lot, since uber won’t take my card and won’t take cash. My brother has been too sick to drive me anywhere and I can’t get a hold of my new girlfriend. I have had all kinds of problems with my bank, including an end to my card.

I either had bad cold 2 days or Covid. NOT GOOD!

Christmas/ Winter Solstice celebration 2021

 By Steve Otto

This is one of the worst Christmases I've ever had. When I woke up on Christmas morning I realized how alone I really am. Things got better as the day wore on. This is my first Christmas without Cam and it has been different. I had a bottle of Spumante sparkling wine which I planned to drink later in the day. But what the hell, it tasted fine at 6 in the morning. Since I hadn't eaten breakfast yet, I really felt the alcohol. I had some Whisky for later in the day.

The only gift I got was from my brother Terry who lives in Sandy Oregon. It was dried fish. The only gift I gave was a copy of Fear and Loathing in Los Vegas by Hunter S Thompson to a woman, Cheri, who I dated on Christmas Eve. The evening before Christmas was way better Christmas Day.

It's been a crappy year so maybe next year will be better. I wanna say it can't be any worse, but that just isn't true.

These are the only Christmas songs I haven't posted here, this year:

And for some reason I never got around to posting this one:

Probably my least favorite commercial this year is:

This year Scrooge is a hero and he doesn’t need to change anything

If there is anything I am now grateful for it is the end of seeing this stupid ad.

I put up this cheezy aluminum X-mas trees.

Tom Saad—one of my best friends dies at 66 years old

By Steve Otto

Once again I'm writing on the death of a friend, Tom Saad. Tom and I went to Goddard High together. That is how we met. I don't know why, but for many years we hung out and did all kinds of things. We went bar hopping all the time. We use to frequent the Riverside Chalet, for many years. It was our favorite bar. That is where I first met my future first wife to be Mary Ann.

Before that we did a lot of things. One year we took a trip to Colorado. We got to Denver after mid-night. Everything was closed so we went to Boulder, a college town. All the bars had stopped serving alcohol but they let bands play until dawn. We met a woman who wanted to sell us "scag" (heroin) but at the time neither of us was into that.

When we were younger Tom was the bad boy. He committed senseless acts of minor criminality. He was found of telling me the story of when he broke into a local mortuary, near his home in Colwich, and he stole the hearse. He drove it down Douglas, a street we youngsters used to drive around for fun, back in the 1970s. At the end of the night he returned the hearse and no one at the mortuary ever realized he had stolen it. One day he came to my house and he was driving a car he stole. I was freaked out knowing how much trouble he could get into and me if I were caught with him.

I could go on and on about the things we used to do. I remember a night when we went to the drive-in to see Easy Rider, a popular movie. At the end of the show his truck was not recharging and the battery was about to go dead. We went down Kellogg going 80 miles an hour without head lights. And we made it to his house. Another night, for what ever reason, he drove real fast down a one-way street the wrong way.

While I and a few of my friends used LSD[1] a few times and cautiously, he went through a faze where he took it all the time. For a few years he did it lots of times. He was almost an LSD junky. I should point out that, at that time, he seem to get a lot more women than I did.

It is all amazing, however, in later years I was the bad boy. I shot up heroin and used narcotics. He strayed away from LSD but kept using marijuana. He never shot up drugs. We both used to visit a drug dealer who we both knew was shooting people up with heroin. He never did that.

At about the age of 20, I got married to my first wife and we moved away. We lost touch. I didn't see Tom again for a few decades. About 10 years ago we met up again. It was great to see someone from the old days. Tom had health problems. We both had been married to various women, me two time, him three. I remember that one of his wives had a child. She beat him to death and they tried to blame Tom. While he was on trial for murdering a 3 month old child, she left town for Colorado. It didn't take long for authorities to realize she was the murderer. Still Tom got injured by some self righteous jack ass in the prison.

Once again we went places and saw each other from time to time.

Tom was always a hippie (some of Tom's artwork can be seen in this article) and in some ways I am also. He was a painter and a poet. But I always felt his real talents were in his art work. He had a very distinctive stile.

In the beginning of our friendship Tom was more of a working class kid and I was a little more middle class, with ambitions to go to college. Tom didn't like education and never went. In the end we were more alike, both of us working class people. I told him more than once that I enjoyed college, and I learned a lot about philosophy and art, but it didn't help as much as I would have liked as far as getting me a high paying job. Also we both had wives, him Linda and me Cam Gentry,  which we had for many years. In the end we were much more alike.

I will miss Tom. He has been one of my best friends. And there are few people I know as long as I knew him.

As I write this article I have not yet seen an Obit on Tom. As I get that information I will post it.

Winter Solstice 2021

Yesterday I celebrated the Winter Solstice. I drank some Martinis which for me is a good winter drink. The juniper berries remind me of Christmas because they taste like a Christmas tree.

The 21st of December was the Winter Solstice. Most of the modern holidays are based on that holiday. Christmas and Saturnalia are among holidays that were decided by the time of the year. During the shortest day of the year, people had a tendency to find something to celebrate. For many people today, this is right before Christmas which is a religious holiday — the birth of the god-man Jesus Christ, the founder of Christianity.

Father Christmas- The Kinks & Green Day

The holidays are here. For me it has been bittersweet due to the loss of my wife and other difficult problems. Still I post what I post every year songs such as Father Christmas, which means a lot to me.

I also put up my lights...just lights.

The death of a pet leaves behind an eerie silence

By Steve Otto

There is now an eerie silence to my bedroom. That is because I no longer have any fish. I turned off the tank bubbler that kept their water oxygenated. My last fish died two days ago. I originally had three blue gills, a popular fish found in the Midwest, both in Missouri and in Kansas.

I’ve had these fish since the summer before last. I had them all for at least a year. The smallest one died first. I thought maybe it just didn’t get enough food. But about a month later, the largest one died. He acted kind of slow towards the end. It didn’t eat very much like it used to. It may have had a disease and it is not uncommon for fish like that—or any fish, to die from disease. And quite often, if one fish gets sick, they all eventually get sick. That is probably what happened here. My last fish quit eating and a few days later, I found him/her on its back on the bottom of the tank.

Now the tank sits empty. I may get knew ones but I’m just not sure. Theses pets may seem insignificant to others, but as many pet owners know, those us who have them, they mean a lot.

Another not-so thankful Thanksgiving

By Steve Otto

Yesterday was another Thanksgiving. I did not visit anyone. I did not have turkey dinner. And to be frank, this is one year when I have little to be thankful for. On a personal level I had many problems. My wife died last January. I had legal troubles and I do not have a drivers license. I also fell down a flight of steps, which in a round about way got me fired from my last job. I had to have my shoulder operated on and I am in rehabilitation therapy. Nationally, just a few days ago, a jury let Kyle Rittenhouse off scot free for murdering two protesters and wounding another. This gives other vigilantes a green light to kill legal protesters.

Among the many things I’m not thankful for are all the blather on the national TV news, this morning, on Black Friday and all the great sales that people can expect. I am thankful that I have no one to buy for this year, so, I can skip all the senseless shopping. I’m totally disgusted that shopping and making captains of industry rich is so important on this so-called holiday. Profiteers, political leaders and pundits seem to have made sure that every corporate stooge has his or her hands in the till. Capitalism could not be more grotesque or disgusting as it is this time of year.

We can ad to all of this, the fact that this is probably one of our most politically incorrect holiday of the year. For a closer look see:

American Thanksgiving: A Pure Glorification Of Racist Barbarity

As usual, we need a good traditional Thanksgiving song:

Kyle Rittenhouse verdict—this is war!

 By Steve Otto

The Kyle Rittenhouse verdict has given rightwing vigilantes a green light to show up at our protests and kill us with semi-automatic guns—or any guns. This is an act of war. We on the left and people of color do not deserve to be shot down in the streets like animals.

I myself plan to get a gun and I will learn to use it. I have a 22, but I want something that can take an active shooter down quick. We are now at war. We need to be ready to shoot it out with vigilantes. It is not enough just to have a gun. We need to learn how to use them and fire at those bastards. Don’t just aim a gun at them and say “what are you doing.” We need to shoot! If that last victim had just shot Rittenhouse, he would not be a problem now.

This reminds me of the Greensboro massacre of 1979. Members of the Communist Workers Party faced of with the Ku Klux Klan. Members of the KKK shot and killed five members of the CWP. The CWP was armed, but they couldn’t shoot very good. We can’t make that mistake again. There was a trial and the KKK members were let free. That’s because they shot communists.

That was their defense and it worked. People on the left need to arm themselves.

This also shows that the jury system in the US is crap. Twelve citizens with no legal background and they decide some one’s fate. They often get it wrong.

THIS IS WAR!

This is not tilting at windmills—we have a right to be heard—a right to freedom of speech—not the censorships of Facebook!

By Steve Otto

Once again Facebook has censored me for my opinions. They are claiming that I violated their community standards. To put it in simple language this is what they said:

You can't post or comment for 2 days

This is because 3 of your previous posts didn't follow our Community Standards.

Nov 16, 2021

Your comment didn't follow our Community Standards

Jun 12, 2021

Your comment didn't follow our Community Standards

May 15, 2021

Your comment didn't follow our Community Standards

Here is my post for Nov. 16:

Has anyone seen those adds for cashnetUSA.com, Do you know what the interest rate is on those loans--a little over 200%. That is a whole lot of money, and I do mean A whole lot of money-!!!!(1)

I then posted a link to that ad on TV:

Along with:

Their complaint is that I threatened people with violence. So where in this comment does it say that I encourage anyone to use violence? The answer is nowhere. There is no suggestions that people use violence against these lenders. In earlier posts I did say that these lenders are crooks, and they deserve much worse than what most activist want to do. I posted an article in my blog, the Idiot Factor: Corruption Folly which said:

“I recently attended a Payday Loans Town Hall meeting. Most of the people there wanted to reform the predatory lenders rather than banning them. My personal feelings are that people who try to profit of the most vulnerable of people really belong in jail. I would rather see those institution banned. That is possible, but maybe not what is best for the people who live around them. Maybe the people who live around the Payday Loans and other similar institutions will be better off if those institutions simply treat them fairly.

I don’t blame the people in those areas for wanting reforms rather than bans. But I have a strong distaste for those who want to profit of off those in our society who are already down. The profit off of those who have problems finding a job that pays more than minimum wage. They profit off of those who may be living in sub standard homes, which cost them a lot of money. They  profit off of those who may be driving cars that are about to fall apart at any time. When they do fall apart they have to find money to fix them and that is not always possible.”

In the past I have suggested that some of these deserve to be shot, “DESERVE,” but I never seriously suggested that people actually use violence against them. My latest comment said nothing about hurting anyone. I didn’t say anything about putting people in jail. So why was my view point censored?!

This is an obvious case of me being shut down simply because some one does not like my opinion.

Facebook is a monopoly that can control what ever they want in a public forum. We already have three major news networks, ABC, NBC and CBS. All of them are very biased. These three networks dominate what passes for news and what is accepted speech and what is not. If there are views they don’t like, they have ways to make them go away. They ignore them and make sure such views are kept from the public.  They are very affective at doing this. Facebook is following in their footsteps. They are making sure that anyone who does not support the Bourgeois status quo, simply disappear—or at least their opinions do. For example,

how many people in the public eye are able to disagree with our leader’s treatment of Cuba? Those who defend the Cuban government are kept out of the public eye.

The bourgeois press is fond of pointing out that America’s Communist Party can freely publish their newspaper. That is true. But how many people have ever seen it? If any American wanted to see that newspaper for themselves, how easy would it be to find such a paper? How many people know where to get one? Unlike the old Communist run governments, we do not have official censorship—we have effective censorship. There are no laws on the books to censor people here in America and yet there are voices that are never heard. Thanks in part to the US Congress, and due to both parties, Facebook has become another bourgeois form of thought control. They are a monopoly; they are owned by $billionaires and those of us who cross their point of view get buried. Only the wealthy and powerful in this country can be heard without censorship. Others can be swept under the rug and never heard from again. There is no organization—no company that can rival Facebook. And they know it.

Another important point is that Facebook is protecting people with unscrupulous practices that harm poor people, trapping them in debt and then squeezing out large amounts of money from them. Such practices used to be called extortion. But today these criminal practices stay legal thanks to such leaders as Donald Trump and institutions as Facebook!

I plan to appeal this to their censorship board. If that does not work, I plan to seek the help of those who are tired of a lopsided view of leaders who believe they can censor and destroy those who get in their way or threaten their agendas!

As of yet, we are not beaten. We will be heard!

Once again- Facebook sucks as does a lot of the people on it!

By Steve Otto

This is one more tirade against Facebook and not just them, but the ass holes who use it. I just got a complaint on a stupid page called "Jukebox of our lives." They complained because I said that Paul McCartney was not much of a political left-winger. The moderator said they don't want my political opinions. Well fuck them.

And while we are at it, fuck all the people who think I should not be dating. I should just keep morning or hang out with my friends. Now are those the friends who live here in town but I never see them? Kinda hard to hang out with them.

Lately I'm totally sick of Facebook and most of the people on there. Ya kinda learn who your friends really are after a while of being on that stupid site. Maybe that's why I rarely go on the site anymore. I spend most of my time alone and that seems to work the best for me. And being on line is—more and more—is a waist of time.

I can date if I want to and anyone who doesn't like that can fuck off. In fact a lot of people, on line, can fuck off anyway. I just don't need those people!!!!

On the death of a porn star; Amber Rayne

 By Steve Otto

I think probably most men watch some kind of porno at least some time in their life. I'm no different, but unlike some people, I admit it openly. As  a Marxist I have had to deal with people, of both sexes, who deny that sex workers can unionize because they believe that any kind of sex work should be eliminated from our society and any other society. I may be a Maoist, but I also have some libertarian views on many issues. For example I don't review comments left on my blogs because I whole heartedly believe in free speech. That differs from a lot of Marxists who do review comments before they allow them on their blogs.

As with sex workers, I oppose laws against pornography, prostitution and strippers. That has got me some nasty comments from other Marxists. I have been told that I can't be a Marxist and hold those views. I've been told that just having those views is the same as promoting those activities. Some Marxists have insisted that I must be actively doing those things. And for the record I some times surf porn, but I don't use prostitutes. I believe what consenting adults do is their own business. I know that prostitution has been illegal in Cuba since the start of the revolution and yet I met some prostitutes during my visit there. And no, I did not use their services even though I ate pizza and drank beer with them.

I do have a Maoist blog that gets views from all over the world and for many months I get as many as 800 or more hits and that includes many countries around the world. I get as many as 60 hits or more from some of those countries, such as England, South Korea and Germany. So I do have credentials as a Maoist. I am a Marxist, Maoist and I support many parties, groups and people around the world. So I'm not worried about Marxists who oppose my views on this or any other subject.

So the other day I was looking at some sites on the subject of gang bangs. There are some kinds of porno that I really don't like. Any time someone looks like they are in pain or being abused I'm not interested or impressed. But I came across a gang bang video by a women who I found out later was named Amber Rayne. Most of the time, women in gang bang films look like victims. They may not really be victims, but it looks that way. That wasn't the case of  Rayne. She was clearly in charge of the film and the men who were trying to be in it. She came off as a dominating woman and I had to admire that. She was no victim and if anything, some of the guys were. Most gang bang movies are not like that.

So I became curious. What other things does this woman do? What is she really like?

I found out she is part of the BDSM community, which a lot of us know as S and M. But I read this does not always mean pain. It can also include people who like domination, to dominate or be dominated. Her original name was Meghan Elizabeth Wren. She had been a movie and TV show extra before becoming an adult movie star.

Then came the real shocker. At the end of the article I was reading it said that she died on April 2, 2016, at the age of 31. She died from an overdose of alcohol and cocaine. Most of the time, if a person does too much cocaine they get a hart attack and then pass out. It does not seem like a pleasant way to die, as opposed to narcotics in which the users just passes out and dies.

As much as I used to enjoy drugs and alcohol[1] (I still drink somewhat) it does turn out to be lethal for some people. So we know she liked using cocaine and drinking alcohol, but that one time she did too much and it ended her life early.

I don't usually find a porn star to be that interesting. The last time I did was when I was still using My Space and I made friends with a porn star who did all her own business management. She owned her own film production company. I have always admired women who are powerful, take charge and aggressive. That is if they are not right-wing jerks like Margaret Thatcher.

When it comes to any actors, they live in Hollywood, or at least in California. They are usually inaccessible. That meant I had virtually no chance of ever meeting her. Still, she was interesting. And if I want to admire her, that is my business.
